During the 2016 Food Distribution Research Society Annual Conference we are offering you the opportunity to explore local and regional foods with the chef and owner of Carmo Café, Dana Honn. Carmo (http://www.cafecarmo.com/) is a New Orleans-based tropical restaurant and bar with a commitment to providing vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike with healthy and affordable dishes in a warm, friendly and casual atmosphere.
Sustainability is an intrinsic part of Carmo’s mission, with certifications by local and national environmental and conservation organizations, including the only three-star rating in the state of Louisiana by the Green Restaurant Association, and the only restaurant in the state to be certified by SeafoodWatch.
For $50 you will have access to a tasting menu that will highlight local and regional food, and their distribution. You will have the opportunity to talk with Danna personally about the history of their restaurant, food sourcing, and restaurant logistics. Please join us for this amazing experience Saturday October 1 from 4:30 pm to 6 pm.
